When dreaming up my guest bedroom, I imagined something like a 5-star hotel. Well, maybe not 5 stars, but at least somewhere that my guests would be comfortable. I envisioned a room full of neutrals that would be a warm and inviting.

Combining white and cream is always a good idea. It feels fresh and inviting, and it’s precisely what I was trying to achieve with this room.

As you all know, I’m a huge fan of black and white. However, for this occasion I wanted to leave black out. I opted for white curtains and a white comforter for a fresh look.

Traditional-style gold lamps from HomeGoods added an elegant touch. Don’t be afraid to mix aesthetics.

Having a chair so your guest can relax is also great. If you have an old chair, or even one stored in your attic, bring it out. Give it a little paint job or even a new cover and voila! It’s ready for your guests to relax. The important thing is that they feel comfortable and at home.

In my case, I wanted to put up picture frames that would show the world. These pictures are from a book and it’s fun to use them on display. Normally we just keep books stored away and we don’t even know what’s inside. Look through your books and you’ll be sure to find some great pictures that will be perfect to frame!

This chandelier was something I decided to make on my own, and it was super easy! It takes a little bit of time, but it’s so worth it. And I think it looks perfect in this room. Always try and think of what you can do yourself first before going out and buying it. You don’t have to spend a fortune on your decor. I was envisioning something exactly like this and I’m so happy with the result!
